Motivation[edit]
This property would provide information about the location of oral history recordings and transcripts of interviews with individuals held by libraries, archives, museums, and historical societies. Oral histories provide valuable historical information about individuals, families, important events, or everyday life. They are commonly held in university archives and museum and historical society collections, but may not be fully cataloged, and few have Wikidata items. This will be a useful property to link from items about persons to the repositories of oral histories created with them.
The following qualifiers may be useful for this new property: title (P1476), inventory number (P217), described at URL (P973), URL (P2699), subject named as (P1810), location (P276), start of covered period (P7103), end of covered period (P7104), access restriction status (P7228), use restriction status (P7261), collection (P195). If others prove to be needed they can be added after the property has been created. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 21:00, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
