Motivation[edit]

In several sports, the number of attempts to score are counted alongside the number of successful scores. This statistic exists in basketball (field goal attempts), soccer, hockey, and perhaps others. (You could make the case that at-bats in baseball should also count as attempts; however, this seems to me like a bad idea, as an at-bat has far more possible outcomes than just 'point scored' and 'point not scored'.) This new property would be used in basically all the same places that number of points/goals/set scored (P1351) is currently used. IagoQnsi (talk) 22:34, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
