Discussion[edit]
- Support This would be useful - however, are we sure we don't already have this ID somewhere under another name? ArthurPSmith (talk) 19:13, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support definitely seems helpful to be able to crosswalk between the databases without relying on DOIs etc. Andrew Gray (talk) 22:16, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

- Support Strange that we dont have it yet. --Hannes Röst (talk) 20:38, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Pablo Busatto, ArthurPSmith, Andrew Gray, Nomen ad hoc, Jneubert, Vahurzpu: I have created this property as Web of Science ID (work) (P8372). But after creation I found a problem: Web of Science contains multiple databases and the ID are prefixed by database. The above ID (prefixed with WOS:) are about Web of Science Core, and other databases (such as BIOSIS, DRCA, INSPEC, etc.) using different prefix. So we may either:
- Limit the property to Web of Science Core only, which is the status quo
- Add WOS: prefix to all IDs and also allow IDs from other databases, but 1. one article will have more than one IDs and 2. the formatter only works for articles indexed in WOS Core or DRCA (regardless of the prefix used), and will not work for other entries.

- @GZWDer: It definitely shouldn't include INSPEC. I'd limit it to WOS/Web of Science Core (your option 1). ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:24, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- OK, I have added a notice in the property.--GZWDer (talk) 15:29, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
