Motivation

ELMCIP is an international database which lists electronic literature creators, critiques, teaching resources, and works. The database has been active for over one decade and is currently active and is the repository for verified and peer reviewed information about electronic literature.     This is excellent. I have no idea how wikidata works, but we really do need a way to list electronic literature writers and works if we can. We have been developing these lists by hand, and that is not effective. Also ELMCIP has verified information and it would be better to just hook into that database.   •  Support However, there is no need for separate ID properties for author, creative work, critical work, and organization. They all share a permanent URL that always looks like https://elmcip.net/node/$1 (where $1 is the ID). I suggest deleting the other proposals and simply changing the name of this property to ELMCIP ID. Description: identifier for a creative work, critical writing, databases and archives, event, organization, person, platform/software, publisher, research collection, or teaching resource on ELMCIP.     I have no problems reworking the proposal to make it ELMCIP ID. This may be easier to implement for Wikidata. The caveat is to get it, one has to go to the work item page, then get it from the location for The permanent URL of this page. I believe all the navigation internal to ELMCIP is with alphanumeric identifiers, but then there is a corresponding number ID for each alphanumeric ID. What do others think?     @AdamSeattle: Hi Adam Seattle, I am mostly a newbie at editing, and I was hoping to create lists for creative work, critical writing, writers, journals and publishers in Wikipedia. Would we then just use the one ELMCIP ID for all of these? Could you show me an example that I should follow? Should I plan on doing all of that by hand as we have done for the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_women_electronic_writers? Thanks for being so patient with us. In the ELMCIP database, there is no such thing as a person id or a creative work id. They all use a single shared id system. I agree with deleting the other proposals and having a single ELMCIP ID property. 2A00:20:D04B:DC89:7291:7A8B:A31:6F8A 07:39, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
